Next Meeting Agenda

1.  Attendees will complete the draft survey during the meeting and give input about it.
2.  Determine the desired outcomes, agenda, content and date for a future meeting on how to set-up a Business Improvement District (BID).
3.  Address the question of whether Nederland should get someone to run in the upcoming Boulder Valley School Board election.
4.  Sub-group to continue to work on community identity on Monday, July 21, 11 a.m. community center (Serene, Gigi, Doug, Chad, Garry and anyone else)

There were approximately 20 people in attendance with most of the group interested in vision 2. The entire group brainstormed ideas about community identity, which they decided to put on hold until accurate data can be obtained and analyzed. The group then brainstormed additions and revisions to the survey Kevin Probst developed.

Community Identity Brainstorm
The group broke the activity into subsections with the idea of generating ideas about what we want to be known for given the different audiences.

Local
-full-service town, self-contained at reasonable comparable price, we don’t have it you don’t need it, meet your neighbors, culture, shops, something to do with my in-laws, quality and service.

Front Range (within a day’s drive)
A pleasant stop, single point for the full experience (recreation and dining…), destination, close-by, shopping opportunities, outdoor adventure center which is very obvious, increase awareness of all the outdoor activities, easy parking and access, avoid I-70, scenic stop enroute to Estes, fun things to do like festivals and events, easy-just show-up-bring nothing do everything, escape the heat, music scene

CU and similar Age Group
Training for recreation, sports, outdoors, RTD, art, music, after ski, alternative medicine, come up and chill out

Tourists (have to travel more than one day to get here)
Things to do for more than one day, close to Rocky Mountain National Park, Indian Peaks, the Divide and Central City and Black Hawk, closest to the divide, less crowds, come stay and play, base camp to the Rockies, all types of activities, friendly and welcoming, hub to Estes Park, Boulder and Central city/Black Hawk, activities for kids while parents gamble

Holland
Nederland exists in Colorado, tie into their country via the history of the name, renewable energy connection, upper Nederland-highest lowland.
