New This Year!
Saturday 11am - 7pm - Grandpa's Mall Crawl & Brain Freezer Tent. On First Street.
Grandpa Bredo's been on ice for 20 years now, still awaiting reanimation in his Tuff Shed and Nederland is once again planning a grand celebration of winter life with Frozen Dead Guy Days. This year's festival is going to be the best yet with live music all three days in the Reanimate Yourself tent and beer garden, a parade of hearses, ice carving demonstration, Harvest House Medicinals coffin races, frozen Salmon tossing, icy turkey bowling and Sunday Local Funday with great kid activities.
Nederland's main street will be transformed into a pedestrian mall so revelers can enjoy street performers and participate in brain freezing and frozen t-shirt contest or sit and enjoy a Grandpa' Spirit (specialty vodka drink) in the Brain Freezer music and vendor tent. And it will all be filmed by TBS a prominent Japanese television station, for one of Japan's most popular reality show.
It all kicks off with a special opening ceremony performance by Nederland High School theater department and then goes into high gear with the 2010 Space Oddity Blue Ball, all aliens and other space travelers welcome.
People come from around the world every March to experience the
legacy of Grandpa Bredo and this unique story.
Dress Up... or not, for the Polar
Plunge & all contestants will be eligible to win a MontBell jacket. (1 mens/1womens)
