2011 Fireworks & 4th of July Celebration

The Nederland Fireworks is an annual tradition. Situated along the shore of Barker Resevior people come from miles around to watch the spectacular show over the water.

But the celebration really starts at noon with the Parade. After the fireworks you can find more music throughout town. Be sure to check the schedule below.

Be sure to stop by the Visitor Center to get information on the many places in and around Nederland to enjoy during the afternoon.

Raising the Money

A fireworks presentation like we've had come to enjoy will cost over $15,000. This is a huge amount of money and the Fireworks Committee relies on the generosity of our community.

Parade Information

Parade starts at noon, goes up 1st Street, north on Bridge and down 2nd Street, back to East St.. The police will allow the parade to go around twice, provided the units stay close enough together that spectators don't start crossing the street in the middle of the parade, and unless there are other safety concerns. Announcers will be Dave Felkley, assisted by Gus Forrest and Dan Johnson.

Participants in the parade should line up on 6th street, after 11:00 and must be inline by 11:30. A parade volunteer will give each unit in the parade a list of the Town's parade safety rules to sign, a card with a number to display so the announcer can see it and a card with a matching number to write the unit's name, description, etc. Runners will hand this card to the announcer at the top of 1st Street. Horses and other live animals will be placed at the end of the parade.
